Okay, here comes yet another figure in my Silver and Bronze Age Superboy collection, Dev-Em the Knave From Krypton!

Dev-Em was a Kryptonian Juvenile Delinquent who bedeviled the Boy of Steel in issues #287 and 288 of Adventure Comics (Aug to Sept, 1968).

To do this figure, I took a DC Direct Silver Age boxset Superboy and, using the boil and pop method, removed the head, arms, legs, hands, and cape. Next, I used my razor knife to trim off the remnants of the cape, and then I took my Dremel and sanded off the belt. Next, I applied some Tamiya Putty White to the chest to fill in the grooves of the chest symbol, and then sand it smooth once the putty had fully dried. With the chest now ready, and the cape fully trimmed off, I mixed up a batch of Milliput to create the collar and belt.

Next, I took the head from a Playmates Star Trek Movie Warp Collection Cadet McCoy and used my Dremel to excavate out a new hole in the head and also remove the small portion of neck from it so that the head and the Superboy figure's neck could fit together nicely and neatly, and afterwards, I again used my Dremel, this time to remove the ball portion of the Superboy's neck peg, leaving a cylindrical post. I then jammed a glob of Milliput into the head cavity inside the Mccoy head and then pushed the cylindrical neck post in it to create a new peg hole. Once the Milliput had dried, I glued the head in place atop the neck.

Next, I used a bit of brush and roller cleaner to strip all of the paint off of the legs and arms. With the paint removed from the arms, I mixed up a batch of Green stuff and applied it around the shoulders just above the seam to create the sleeves. Once the Green Stuff had dried, I sanded the sleeves smooth, leaving the strip and a trim line and then reassembled the arms, adding the hands from a DC Direct Crisis on Infinite Earths Earth-Prime Superboy. Next, I gave the shoulders a coat of Testors Acryl Gloss Purple for the sleeve and Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow for the trim, and the skin a coating of Testors Acryl Peach, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear.

While the paint on the arms dried, I started work on the legs. For the legs, I repainted the leggings with the Testors Acryl Gloss Purple and the boot and trunk portions with the Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear.

While the paint on the legs dried, I started work on the torso with attached head. There was not that much that needed to be done on the torso and head except for applying the paint. For this, I applied a coat of Testors Acryl Gloss Purple for the shirt, Testors Model Masters Insignia yellow for the collar and trunks, and Testors Slime Green for the belt. Once all of that paint had dried, I gave the entire torso two generous coats of Flat Clear.

With all portions of the body now fully painted and ready, I used the boil and pop method to reattach the arms and the legs to the body, and TA-DA...Dev-Em the Knave From Krypton, enemy of Superboy!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
