He is a ROBOT, he is a COP, he is a ROBOT COP. I had this idea eating away in my head for a while, but I kept procrastinating because it felt like such a big undertaking. I wanted to make a Robocop figure that I felt embodied the 90's toys of him I loved, his appearance in, "Robocop vs Terminator," while also trying to give my own spin to his overall look. He's made from a combination of Iron Patriot and War Machine parts. As both were just retools/repaints of each other I was able to use Iron Patriot's thighs, upper body, right forearm, feet, and shoulder guns. Those were all swapped onto War Machine, preferably I would have dyed the Iron Patriot parts black before priming them, but I had no dye. After that I dremeled out the upper body of a broken McFarlane Robocop I had on hand; I had to sand out the upper body and find a way to mount and blend Robocop's armor onto him. His gun arm is a combination of his movie and RvT comic one assembled onto one of Iron Patriot's gatling gauntlets. After a lot of dremeling, sanding, gluing, sanding, and more gluing and fitting I painted him. I disassembled him and primed the whole thing with a primer silver spray paint made for thin coats. Some pieces I had to let cure longer than others. After that I created a very light metallic blue wash to apply over the body to give his armor a more familiar color. I also tried to make a darker gunmetal to paint in on random panels to give him a more asymmetrical and toyetic look. So anyways, here he is! ![]() |
