Hi everyone. This is "L&L Horror Toys" from Argentina.
This time I introduce you to "Kate Corrigan", a character from the Hellboy universe of the great Mike Mignola.
Before moving on to the final piece in this collection, I want to add this little "bonus". By making so many pieces of this special Mezco collection, I was understanding and learning the techniques necessary to achieve a finish similar to that of the original pieces. So I decided to imagine what the Mezco figure of this character that was not included in the collection would look like. As a reference I used images taken from the comics, I did not want something realistic, but to maintain that bizarre and 2D aspect that characterizes Mignola in his works. And to take it to a three-dimensional level I looked for images of Liz Sherman's official Mezco figure (maybe I should create it too) as a guide to maintain an aesthetic line. To make this concept figure, I used the body of a WWE wrestler and completely resculpted it with two-part epoxy putty. The belt is made entirely of thermoformed and painted eva foam. And the earrings are made of real metal.
Finally, I painted everything with my own acetonic-based painting technique with details in acrylic and watercolors.
