Hi everyone. This is "L&L Horror Toys" from Argentina. This time I introduce you to "Lobster Johnson", a character from the Hellboy universe of the great Mike Mignola. Because the original figures of this line of "mezco" were very difficult to find in my country (and the few that could be found were inaccessible) I decided that I could make my own Hellboy figures. And now I have my own complete collection (which you can find in the works published in my profile). Thanks to a good friend lending me the original figure, I was able to carefully observe the amazing details of it and thus achieve the same finish. For the making of this figure I used the body of a wwe fighter (I usually use these pieces because they are of a scale with ideal proportions), but with the detail that legs from an action figure were used for the arms. Above the shoulders I prolonged the body and sculpted a new articulated neck only with putty (if you are detail-oriented, you will have noticed it in all the figures I made in this collection). I did this to achieve the "dropped shoulders" effect that characterizes Mike Mignola's drawing style. The entire figure was then fully resculpted with two-component epoxy putty. As for the details of this figure, the hands are sculpted with the same putty and the gun-holsters are made with thermoformed and painted eva-foam. Finally, I painted everything with my own acetonic-based painting technique with details in acrylic and watercolors. I hope you like it. This is the sixth figure of this collection that I publish. If you are interested in seeing more photos of this or other works, follow me or write me on my networks! I will wait for you! Greetings! ![]() |
