I always liked the 3.75 Luke figure from the HTTE comic pack, and wanted to pay tribute to that design with my first custom in years. I used a Dagobah Luke for the base, legs from am x-wing luke, and the holster from a Solo movie Han figure. After removing the legs (boiling method) I painted the crotch using orange citadel paint. I had to slightly dremel the hip pegs on the luke as well as the peg holes on the x-wing legs. Once the legs were attached I noticed the shades of orange were different, so I dry brushed the legs to match the crotch. After the paint was dry I used masking tape to cover the body and boots, then used tamiya flat top coat spray to seal the legs. Once the main workload was out of the way I got to work on the holster. I cut the full belt and holster from a Han Solo figure, sliced off the holster itself, trimmed off one strap from the belt, and cut away some of the edges from the main strap so it would lay across the body better. I used superglue to attach the holster to the front of the strap and repainted the full strap using brown tamiya paint. I also added a belt from farmboy luke but I'm not sure it will stay. This was my most involved project and it turned out better than I expected. No sacrifices articulation, no chipping paint. Feels good. ![]() |
