Recipe is mostly newcollector's, credit where it's due. So I made the decision to start switching over my JLA shelf from DCUC to DC Essentials... right before DC Direct shut its doors. D'oh! Rather than backtrack, I decided to just plunge ahead and blend with other DCD/DCC figures as needed. The problem is that I already was using the N52 figure for my Grid figure, and I liked Cyborg's more sleek design from the end of Forever Evil. I tried briefly to sub in the Icons figure, but it was just too small. After coming across newcollector's custom based on the Heroic Age Iron Man figure, I tested it against the DCC figures... a bit small, but much more reasonable. Made a few tweeks for my version, using the DCUC Cyborg head (had been displaying the Wal Mart exclusive with the permanent canon hand) and painted the arms skin tone instead of black after seeing some comic art with a similar look, especially because it contrasted Cyborg even further from Grid. ![]() |
