This was a birthday gift for a mentee - he had the choice of me buying him a figure or me making him a custom figure. He chose a custom (of course) :) I was honored to make this figure. I had never made a figure based on the Scarlet Speedster and I wanted this to be unique and yet familiar. I took inspiration from every version of The Flash including the TV shows, comics and the most recent version from Zack Snyder's Justice League. I used the Toybiz Mar-vell figure as the base, and Legendary Heroes "Star" boots, and Chris Evan's Captain America head from "The First Avenger" I did a good deal of sculpting for the "armor" and to make the figure look like it's wearing a fabric suit underneath the armor. I had used this buck for other figures such as the Spider-Man Classic I have in the gallery. I painted a base coat of Testor's Matte Black, then Testor's/Vallejo Dark Red, Vallejo Flat Red, Testor's Silver, Testor's Gloss Red, and finally a bit of Testor's Gloss coat. The final result was something I was surprised by and my mentee was more than happy when he got it, he understood that the figure was an homage to all the versions of The Flash. I'm always happiest when I create and even more happy when I give to the world. This was just a small step into the future that I aim to build.
