I started upgrading my whole New Mutants team and decided I wanted to make a Rockslide and have him in the mix. I had a few extra Strong Guy parts, and wondered if I could blend them with some Thing parts.

Not easy to do, but I basically drilled out the sockets on both figures to get them apart. I kept the barbell joint in my thing base, I heated it to force fit it into the Strong Guy torso. This way he still has full range and articulation. Also had to mod the arm sockets to fit the Thing arms. The Strong Guy arm sockets are too big, so I glued in a rubber socket which allows for arms to articulate.

I took some extra Warpath shoulder pads and sculpted over them to make them "rocky" and added some sculpt to the Thing head. The shoulder pads help to cover up just how big the arm openings are.

I used a Charcoal gray for paint color and overall happy with how he came out. Matching the yellows almost made me crazy, but I think I came close enough. Had to mix yellows, oranges, and whites to get it somewhat right...
