I usually do comic accurate looks for my customs, but Bushmaster green and yellow tights look is just really silly. I did like the concept of the character: a quadruple amputee, who, thanks to mad science was given a snake tail and robotic arms with blades on the end. I decided to go with a metallic green and yellow on the tail. I decided to go shirtless for the character to reduce the amount of green and yellow on the custom, and to make his origin more apparent. In the comics you can't tell if he's a mutants with a snake tale, some sort of alien or what. With my custom you can tell that he's a normal guy with cybernetic replacements for his limbs. I used a wrestlers torso and arms for this custom. I don't like cannibalizing good figures if I don't need it. The wrestlers upper body was well articulated. The only noticeable omission being the ab crunch. To give some slight articulation to the top of his snake half, I kept the wrestlers hinge legs in place, chopped them off at the thighs and glued his knee and calf right below it in the middle of the two thighs, and then sculpted over top of them using alves apoxie, making sure to avoid removing the articulation points.. This gave some extra articulation to the top half. The rest of the snake tale is sculpted with cosclay over top of wire, so that his tale has infinite possibilities for posing. The wire is strong enough to hold shape and the cosclay is durable and rubbery. Some of the wires were criss-crossed to add width and strength. The blades on the arms were sculpted. It was painted with mostly vallejo and tamiya. ![]() |
