So this isn't so much a custom, just a mod, but I thought it may be of interest to others who may want to try the same or similar. I saw a post where someone had pried off Casey's mask to show quite a good Elias Koteas head sculpt underneath. So, I did the same. It took a bit of work to get the mask off. There is a tab at the forehead and tabs on both lower cheeks holding the mask on. I slid my xacto knife inside the mask and cut as carefully as I could, added a bit of heat and pulled the mask off. I made a mold of the head like that, and the mask separately, then cast both. Took the head cast and sanded and sculpted into the mount holes, sculpted some new hair around the mask separation and made a mold of that. When that cast was done, I cut the mask straps off and sculpted new hair around that, then sculpted to the bottom of the hair since it didn't take the casting all that well. Took the make cast and sanded and refined where needed and added elestic nylon for the straps. With the new hair in place, it wouldn't work over the face, but works well on the top of the head. So I put the original back in place on the original face, painted up the new head and mask and he now has interchangeable heads and a loose mask to hold or prop on his melon. With such a good face sculpt under the mask, I have no doubt we'll be getting an official unmasked Casey soon enough, but I hope this helps any of you who may be interested in giving this a shot.
