This is Phage, one of the symbiotes forcefully spawned from Venom by the Life Foundation in an attempt to weaponize them. Shoutout to 978Customs for inspiring me to make this after seeing his custom Phage.

To make Phage I used 978Custom’s recipe of kit-bashing Sentry and Copperhead together and acetoning(is that a word?) off the blue to get a fully yellow figure except for the neck joint. This is great because it eliminates nearly all paint rub. I then sanded his joints down and painted him in a two-toned yellow (the orangish wash doesn’t show up in photos for some reason)

For the head I went for his first comic book appearance with black teeth over a white void much like his sibling Scream. I used a wood burning tool to engrave his eyes into the plastic and then sculpted his mouth/teeth with aves.

For his alt head I combined a couple interpretations of him from other comics and fan art and using a venom head as a base I sculpted the eyes and cheeks with aves.

For his razor fins I wanted to keep them close to the original design so I sketched them out on sheets of styrene and cut them out. I then sanded the edges to get them rounded & smooth and dremeled slots into his body to glue them into place.

For his blade arm I used styrene again the same way as before and attached a wrist joint to it with glue and a metal pin running through to anchor it into place. I then sculpted over the joint with hot glue.

For his flowing symbiote design I used the hot glue technique I learned from warrack with his Carnage custom. I found some black hot glue sticks and with a fine-tip precision hot glue gun and lots of patience + trial&error I made all his little squiggles. Afterwards I cleaned up the excess glue strands with tweezers and cleaned it further by lightly running a heat gun over everything.

I cut wedges out of his feet to give him the cleft foot look from the comic and added claws from a Toxin figure. I then sealed him up with Mr Hobby sealer (thanks Jin Saotome) and he was complete !

I’m really happy with how the heads turned out and the styrene accessories, and I’m looking forward to eventually making the other symbiotes from the Seperation Anxiety arc. Hope you like it !
