The Mimic was my first foray into custom figures a few years ago. I really wanted it to scale nicely with Mythic Legions figures to appease my Dark Souls figure desires. The Covenant Xenomorph seemed perfect for the job; it's more organic and streamlined than most xenomorph figures, and it has that creepy, lanky build that Dark Souls mimics have. I took the head off, cut off the back tubes and tail and other details, and reversed the wrists so the elbows could be posed in the creepy backward way that DS Mimics hold their arms.

The chest is an decorative aquarium bubbler chest that I took a rotary tool to the insides and bottom of, then disassembled and repainted. I added dollhouse hinges, since the original hinge wasn't meant to hold up weight.

The teeth and gums are sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt, and they attach with magnets nested down inside the chest. The tongue is harvested from a bootleg Venom figure, because I wasn't sure at the time how to approach a bendy piece.

Honestly, despite its age and the experience and tools I've gained since then, the only thing I'd probably do differently now is that I might make a bendy-wire tongue.
