Base figure was a Good Smile Company Okanehira. Again, I'd like to mention how beautifully detailed these Nendoroid figures are. I took everything apart and went to work with my dremel tool grinding away all of the original details. Sculpting - Built the anatomy back up using Smooth-on Free Form sculpt. The Smooth-on product is an epoxy sculpt that is pretty strong and really light. I sculpted his feet as well, as the base figure really didn't have any. He came with a lot of interchangeable arms so I modified a couple for his "bow shooting" look. I used Aves Apoxie Sculpt to sculpt the details on his costume. Aves is great as it holds details really well. Hair - I chose him primarily because of his hairstyle. I thought I could transition it easily to Kid Icarus' hair but it was WAY more involved than I thought. The hair is actually two parts [front and back] and my original idea was to keep as much of the base hair as possible. Well the back was super spiky and didn't look right no matter what I tried so I had to cut away and start over several times. I ended up basically sculpting the entire back half. I was able to blend in the sculpt with more of the front part and was happy with how it looked. Wings - started with braided wire for internal structure and bent into shape. Then sculpted over it. Bow - bent wire into shape and sculpted over it. Sand - Paint - Finished For more pics and progress shots you can search gbrandcustoms blog. ![]() |
