I originally used a Red 3 X-wing (first release, white bands on engines). I used paint thinner on a Q-tip to take off all the red markings. After I put some dish-washing soap on an extra toothbrush and scrubbed it so no paint thinner would be eating away at it. I dry-brushed some gray on the white bands, then added in the blue and yellow markings. I actually did not use tape to get straight lines for the wing markings. After removing the wing markings, you could somewhat see the "pathway" where they were. I just painted along, and after I took a toothpick and cleaned up the areas. For the blue stripes on the side of the ship I did use tape there. Lastly I weathered it a bit.

The 2 figures included are Blue Leader Antoc Merrick and his astromech. The Blue Leader figure is actually an extra I had from the Blue Squadron Y-wing. The astromech is an extra R2-D2 painted up to match his colors.
