Around 6 months ago I picked up the Legends Ultimate Capitan America with the Motorbike and although I loved the design, the figure itself wasn’t great - the upper body seems odd. The ’80 years’ Cap is pretty great but I agree with those who felt the blue was perhaps a little dark so it still wasn’t my perfect Cap. I dig Cap looking a little more like a solder so the solution was to use both figures and make some sort of WW2 of my own… I really like the ’Isaiah Bradley’ Captain America look (hopefully Hasbro will make one soon!)so this was my inspiration. I used the Hasbro Legends WW2 Ultimate Cap Head The 80 years Cap body, upper arms and upper legs The Toy Biz Ultimate Cap lower arms and gloves The Toy Biz (monster boxset)Frankenstein lower legs and boots. A few years back a friend made me about six Cap shields out of Aluminium based on the shield which came with the old Toy Biz Ultimate Cap and Nick Fury 2 pack. I liked the idea of it having a 'standard army issue’ vibe so all it needed was some green paint and a white star. (plus a little ink to dirty it up and a bit of sanding to add wear and tear) Painted with both Citadel and Revell paints. I miss the toe articulation in the Legends line but had forgotten how difficult the articulated hands are to work with. All in all I’m pleased with the result - it was a simple custom which gets the look I was after. Hope you guys like it. ![]() |
