Hello everyone, This is Xorug Axebeast. I always wanted for some company to develope figures from the Warcraft games, specially the early games when I used to play. In this case always wanted orcs from the Warcraft 2 or 3 games or maybe WOW orcs, which I've never played. Unfortunately for me the developed toys where Warcraft movie ones. To tell you the truth I got disappointment with the size of the orcs, although well sculpted there is something wrong about them, maybe size compared to the humans, don't know, or maybe is just in my brain. I wanted Gaming type figures, and goblin demolitions, and death knights, and Catapults and axe trolls and double headed ogres..... Yes definitely I wanted something more like a Warcraft game orc. OK, so a few days ago I saw a video from ACE OF CLAY on an gaming orc, and I got focused on it. By the Way, I Do recommend watching some of his videos, I have learned or try to apply some of his techniques in my last few works. Even though he does sculptures and use different material, the sculpting principle is the same. So I was thinking to make a red orc, then says nooo, very common, then thought, black orc, way cool, then realized that some features weren't gonna be shown, so went for5 the blue orc, which I Really liked. So Recipe: - Body Hulk -Sculpt -some straps are Leather pieces. -Some Spikes are just metal spikes from my fodder - All Fangs and teeth are sculpted. - Paint many layers, many greens - Dry brushing 3 different tones of black grey and White. - Axe is from a Warlands figure, and some washed . - Shield was a key chain that I have been saving for a shield actually, added sculpts around it. - Shield attaches via Magnets - Shoulder pads where sculpted but over pieces of plastic so it maintains articulation The figure Basically maintains all the articulation, managed to sculpt around it. Worked around through several layers, and wanted to add more details. "Fantasy figures can hardly have too many details" according to Ace of Clay, and I agree, but don't wanted to throw all the eggs on this basket and move it too far away from a Warcraft gaming orc, and want to try a goblin Demolition team... Really hope this comes out decent. Then went into dry brushing and washes Hell... haven't sealed it yet because it always get a little more shine even though I use matte seal, and wanted pictures as is. Got to say I really like this guy.., Hardly I feel proud of my figures, only about 35% I feel really satisfied with them. So this guy I like, hope you guys like it too. ![]() |

I feel the same way about wanting figures from the early Warcraft games and the figures from the movie. It's good to see a so well made Orc custom figure.
