“This one is N’GASTA, the Necromancer of Stros M’Kai” You’ve probably come across a weird book called ‘n'gasta kvata kvakis’ when playing Skyrim and thought: what in oblivion is this nonsense. Well the book was written by a Sload necromancer back in the days of Tiber Septim during the events of Redguard, but the book itself is just a in game joke of advertising some site or forum written in a odd language. N’Gasta himself as I said is a sload, they’re odd creatures and I did some research and found that they have legs. I previously thought they were like Hutt’s and Xenemorphs combined in a weird mush mash and the game might imply this character to be a worm in the literal slug body sense, but as I said research led to learning things and they have legs so I’ve concealed those under his robe. I’ve noticed I’ve made a few dark wizards with Jagar Tharn and Mannimarco and I can only say that whilst this one might be the last Dark Wizard I make for a while, more wizards are planned. What is it with Elder Scrolls games and dark wizards? Anyway on to the recipe So he’s an Elrond torso arms and head combined with Theoden legs and a Legolas arm and leg for the tail then draped in robes and a lot of sculpting. You can see the WIP and how different he is and whilst I can’t capture the legs really, they have been sculpted over and painted but the point is the character looks like a slug. What can I say other than sculpting with Milliput epoxy resin as usual over a base of parts that were cut up shortened or what not. The hands were perfect for the look of leathery hands, though a finger had to be removed and sculpted over on each hand and upper arms sculpted before being stuck back into the sleeves. The Pauldron is all Clay but I found using a strap from a Legolas worked well to keep it in place but allow him to articulate his arms as well as another strap beneath. The robe is half Elrond and the back is Witchking, the emblem and broaches are sculpted from scratch. The hat is also sculpted but the hanging parts are from a Legolas cloak. The entire head was scratch sculpted and when I finished him initially I made his head too small using mainly the concept art as a focus, but upon rewatching the parts he’s in the game Redguard, I corrected this and sculpted over the smaller head with a bulkier one I used concept art and in game shots for reference and I have to say whilst sculpting I was reminded of Toa Tahu’s mask from Bionicle. Just has that look about it I guess, though less grotesque as this character face I made from nothing. I have a shot next to my Baurus custom for height reference. Seemed to make sense as he’s voiced by the same voice actor as the main character in Redguard where N’Gasta is from. This is likely going to be my last custom of 2019 so Happy New Year to everyone on the realm and my friends and supporters here. Thanks for allowing me to indulge and share my hobvy with you and I will be back in the new year with a good shield for people to go ooo a shield! Haha, but seriously I do love this site and appreciate every comment given. Hope everyone had a good 2019 and had a better 2020! ![]() |
