The Joker movie is an interesting case because I didn't personally enjoy the movie but I still think it's well done and that the filmmakers accomplished what they set out to do. It's an interesting experiment to take a comic book character and marry that to a specific style and period of filmmaking to create this specific homage, but I also don't want a whole string of comic book movies that are tonally like this, because that approach won't work for every character, and I'm not even sure if it really works for the Joker. It works if this is treated as completely separate from any other DC movie, as intended, and as like an Elseworld one-shot. I have a lot of pretty complicated feelings about the movie, and there's as much about it that I really appreciate as I find frustrating, especially how this bodes for comic book movies going forward.

That's part of why I waited a while before making a custom figure of it, but eventually, I decided I wanted a representation of this take on the Joker in my collection. I used a Joker from the Multiverse Signature collection as a base. The DC Multiverse figures are not conducive to customisation at all, because the peg holes are all sealed off and on this particular figure, the hands are practically impossible to cleanly remove. I swapped out the jacket for that from a Movie Masters suited figure. Resculpted the head, sculpting new front of the hair and sculpting over the scars at the corner of his mouth. Sanded down the gloves so they could be painted over into bare hands. Used a bit of twisty tie to turn into a cigarette, with a bit of cotton wool as the cigarette smoke. Painted it all up.
