Kenner delivered a rather disappointing Catwoman figure from Batman Returns, one with a bad face sculpt and a horrible pose. I decided to remake her to better reflect what we see in the film. About half of the figure is the Kenner Catwoman, and the other half is Poison Ivy from Batman & Robin. From Catwoman, I used the head minus the face, the torso, the boots, and the arms. From the standard Poison Ivy, I used the face, a small portion of her arms to lengthen the Catwoman arms, and her hands. From the other Poison Ivy that came in a two-pack with Robin, I used the thighs. I figured out the new pose and then cut the legs beneath the knees to match the cut of the boots. At the hips, I cut down the legs to match the size of the torso, then stuck it together with epoxy. Posability was not an option for her legs because the figures used were so different. I painted her flat black, added all detail as screen accurate as possible, and coated her in satin clear coat for a slight gloss effect. The whip was made by twisting together larger gauge thread, coating it with Gorilla Glue, and then painting it black. The handle is epoxy. The figure was a lot of work, but a vast improvement over the original. Please check out my other Batman movie custom figures. Please wait... |
