Mr. Fixit was much more involved than I had anticipated. Many people have said that Hasbro should release a Mr. Fixit on the Kingpin BAF body and while I did use it, the sculpt is definitely not right for a Hulk. The Kingpin BAF obviously has a stomach that would be too big for Joe Fixit and his hips were far too wide.

For this custom I used the Gladiator Hulk upper body, pelvis, and arms, heavily modified kingpin legs and jacket, and the SH Figuarts Hulk heads with heavy sculpting added.

First the jacket needed to be adjusted. If you were just to put the jacket onto the Hulk body, the sculpt would still bulge too much in the stomach. I heated up the jacket and carefully remolded it to the new body.

The legs were also a big pain. The kingpin pant legs were perfect for the project but the hips were way too wide, and as they were the were a little short. Mr. Fixit is the smallest Hulk, but the unaltered legs made him too small. I started out by cutting the hinge grooves in the legs so that they would close to a much more narrow stance. Then I shave the hip joints to make them less bulbous. Finally, I elongated the legs to add some height. To do this I drilled in multiple tooth picks into the top of legs to add structure and then filled the area hot glue to make a perfect fit. Finally, I sculpted around the glue with Aves apoxie sculpt, and was able to keep the full articulation.

The heads were another challenge. I felt that the Gladiator Hulk head sculpt was too big. So I took the heads from the SH Figuarts Hulk, cast them, and then sculpted on top. I added a much more pronounced brow and upper lip. At this scale having a removable hat looks awkward so I had to make heads with the hat sculpted on. To do this, I used a combination of Aves, and Pro Create.

Finally, I primed and painted the whole figure. I think it turned out pretty well. I'm thinking of adding extra arms with the sleeves rolled up.
