Here is my 12 inch custom action figure of the Cobra Officer, which I used to depict the Marvel Comics character Scar-Face who appeared in seven issues. Also referred to as the Cobra Courier, Scar-Face was a low level grunt in Cobra who was used by Cobra Commander, The Baroness, and Dr. Venom to deliver a deadly virus created by Venom. He also had a secret allegiance to Destro, who sought to overthrow Cobra Commander. After a lot of doublecrosses and twists and turns, Scar-Face becomes infected by the virus in accordance to Cobra Commander's plan, making him a biological time bomb who is then captured by the JOEs and taken to The PIT headquarters along with a captured Major Bludd. The Major is rescued and escapes, leaving Scar-Face behind. A Cobra Soldier plants a bomb that explodes and kills the Cobra Courier. Scar-Face's dreams of making it big in Cobra never came to fruition. I based the figure on the original 1980s Cobra Officer figure and the card artwork. The only differences from the original Cobra Officer is that he has the carry case handcuffed to his wrist, the scars going down each eye, and the red cloth on his face to make him Scar-Face. I used a Lanard 12 inch figure as the base, and the head from a GI JOE Firefighter figure that I thought looked like the comic book character. The uniform is a mail away Hall of Fame outfit, and a blue T-shirt with the sleeves cut and turned in to cover up the onesie jumpsuit on the torso. I pieced together the harness and all of the accessories with various items I purchased online. I cut out emblems and such from other figure outfits as needed and glued them to this new version. I did not have another matching blue helmet like the one I used on the Cobra Soldier, so I took a green one from the JOE figure and painted it blue. I added black cloth to the arms for the appearance of a shirt underneath the uniform top. The face mask was cut and stitched from a piece of clothing.
