Here is my 12 inch Cobra Trooper custom action figure, based on the original figure and card art from the early 1980s. The Cobra Trooper was the first GI JOE figure I ever had back in the day! I wanted a 12 inch version of the original, and Hasbro never really delivered anything accurate over their many years and many not so great offerings. I know Sideshow released these, but they look weird to me in a weird uncanny valley way, and they take liberties with the classic design. I wanted mine to look like a toy that Hasbro could have and should have produced. I used a Lanard 12 inch figure as the base. The head is from a random GI JOE figure. I cut black cloth to make his face covering. The onesie outfit and helmet was a mail order Hall of Fame outfit. I found blue T-shirts for 12 inch figures, so I cut the sleeves and put them over the body to cover the jumpsuit look of the base outfit. I cut cobra emblems and designs from other outfits and glued them to this one. I used a harness from Dragon, altering it to replicate the design on the original figure. The weapons and accessories are various items purchased online that I thought would be right for my figure.
