"You built these weapons to destroy us. Why? Because you are afraid of our gifts. Because we are different. Humanity has always feared that which is different, but I am here to tell you, to tell the world, you're right to fear us. We are the future. We are the ones who inherit this earth and anyone who stands in our way, will suffer the same fate as these men you see before you. Today was meant to be a display of your power. Instead I give you a glimpse of the devastation my race can unleash upon yours. Let this be a warning to the world and to my mutant brothers and sisters out there, I say this. No more hiding. No more suffering. You have lived in the shadows of shame and fear for too long. Come out. Join me. Fight together in a brotherhood of our kind, a new tomorrow that starts today." - Magneto Oh man! So you know how they don't make figures based on the X-Men films? Well that really sucks cuz when those movies rock - they rock! Days of Future Past was probably my favorite film in the series apart from Logan. One of the best things about the film was the look of Magneto! His suit is the best interpretation of what's seen in the comics - but adapted to our real world aesthetics (especially the 70s) His helmet looks menacing and cool and the body armor is practical with hints of his House of M suit. This is overall my favorite look for the character on the big screen to date. I sculpted all the armor on this guy, as well the details on the gloves, pants and boots. I sculpted the helmet from scratch and believe it or not it was originally intended to be a Green Lantern ring. The cape was produced with two types of fabric, a maroon colored polyester and faux leather material that is just top notch. I also used a piece of plastic for the collar part of the cape. Painted him with Testor's model masters acrylics and vallejo, sealed him with Testor's Dullcoate and viola! - Magneto! I've produced three Magnetos in the past and I actually wanted to make this guy look the younger version of the old Marvel Legends Magneto and it really shows in the recreation of the character poster from the film that I made. He also kinda looks like an older version of the X-Men: First Class Magneto that I produced. I hope you enjoy this figure - he is going up for auction and feel free to leave a comment or to commission me for a piece. Please wait... |
