Bard, the bowman

After almost each, of my valued customizer-colleagues, with focus on Tolkien-customs, had created their great versions of „Bard, the bowman“, a couple years ago, I‘m a born and bred straggler. ...but „a good thing takes time“, right ?

Thanks to you guys, for the inspiration !

So here‘s my Bard, which I’m really happy with.

I hope you like it, too !?

I‘ve used pictures of the movies and of the WETA-statue, which slightly vary from each other, as references, and picked some details of both, which I found the most interesting.
Besides the headsculpt (of course !) I‘ve set value on things, like the quiver; it’s (self-)braided belt the greyish-blue singlet below the tunic; the fur on the shoes and I even roughed up the trousers, to get the worn off-look.

Recipe :
Attached Darth Maul’s legs to a Will Turner-body; shortened it‘s neck a little bit; resculpted the face, hair, gloves and shoes.
I‘ve decided not to sculpt the „calf packings“, but to use faux-leather, (glued over fleeze and tied with yarn) instead, to maintain ankle-articulation.

To get the typical bowman-pose, I’ve replaced the right arm, by one of an Aragorn-figure (with a double-elbow-joint and a typical bowman-hand).

I was searching, for linen, with a weaving-pattern, in the right scale, for the tunic, for many month. After I’ve found and bought one, I‘ve decided to sculpt the tunic instead, to get more drapery and details. 🙈
At least, I used the linen, to imprint the pattern into the sculpy. The part of the tunic below the belt is sculpted over rubber.
Then I‘ve also warped the initial plan, to use a Aragorn‘s coat and made one out of faux-leather instead. The fur-lining comes from a baby-cuddly toy.
To get the with of the sleeves right was tricky. Not to wide, but wide enough to allow the elbow-joints to bend underneath.

The cloth-belt comes from a prince Nuada-figure.

The bow comes from a Faramir Gondorian ranger-figure.
Arrows from a prologue elven warrior, but repainted.

The quiver is sculpted over plastic.

Very nicely done, the coat is something I’d like to do, what you can do with that my friend is because it’s removable, you can make the same cost but in blue then you don’t have to have 2 bards! Might do this myself. Very nice work!

Thank you very much, STARK R@D ! I really appreciate it !

You, as a Stark...any ideas, where Drogon 🐉 is at the moment ?

I‘m asking on behalf of Bard...
You know...he thought he had killed the very last dragon, but after watching GOT...he‘s a bit „nervous“. 😉

Regards !
