King Conan, in his iconic posture closing the first movie (and the next one too, I think) Another long carving work on this character! Basic Figurine: NECA - Conan - Pit fighter I made a rudimentary wooden bench on which I patiently carved the throne. I fixed toothpick tips to make the teeth of the lions. The rings are made of wire.It was quite difficult to make smooth surfaces and especially to respect the symmetry. The spear is carved on a skewer. The sword is carved from an ice stick. For Conan, I first cut the limbs and joints to give him a sitting position. Then I carved the armor, the bracelets, the cape, the animal skin. The right hand comes from a NECA T-1000.I changed the hair and the crown. The teeth of the collar are connected by a painted plastic wire. The base comes from the McFarlane-Lord of Darkness figure (deluxe edition). I still used wooden sticks for the sword, on which I carved the title. A big job of painting to finish. Pictures of the statue by Chronicle helped me a lot, both for the sculpture and for the colors, the final scene being very short and drowned in smoke. I think I deserved a bit of rest!
