Camille is a Bond girl in the most classic of cases- meaning that she cleaves more towards the heroines of the books than of the films. She isn’t sexualized to the same degree that many before her have been, and she is not a romantic conquest for 007. She’s more like an ally or partner; both she and Bond are seeking revenge on behalf of others, and that keeps them emotionally distanced from each other, the only refuge they can afford to give is being able to watch out for each other’s back. It’s a refreshing and bittersweet relationship.
